BayLegal Celebrates with SF LGBT Center on 15th Anniversary
April 9, 2017 – As a longstanding community partner, and now a proud new tenant, Bay Area Legal Aid celebrates with the SF LGBT Center on their 15th Anniversary Open House and completion of renovations!
Last Sunday, the SF LGBT Center rededicated their renovated home with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house celebration. BayLegal’s San Francisco office marked the occasion with a reception for local friends, family, alumni, volunteers, supporters, and community partners to toast the venture. Managing Attorney Jerel McCrary remarked that location was central to the identity of the San Francisco Neighborhood Legal Assistance Foundation—one of BayLegal’s predecessor organizations. (At its height in the 1970’s, SFNLAF had neighborhood offices in BayView, Chinatown, the Mission, 6th and Natoma, the Western Addition, and a special unit for Welfare Advocacy and Women’s Litigation at 7th and Market.) Today, BayLegal’s location in the SF LGBT Center will continue to keep legal services accessible to the communities we serve for years to come.
