Getting Results for Our Clients 2023 Impact
BayLegal's 3,501 cases defended tenants against unlawful evictions, and helped retain housing subsidies and the right to live free from discrimination in safe and affordable housing. Our 3,197 closed cases resulted in nearly $9.2 million in benefits for clients.

In 1,808 cases BayLegal helped clients access eligible public safety net benefits for economic stability, nutrition and support services. 1,134 closed cases resulted in $16.4 million in direct economic benefits.

BayLegal's Health Consumer Center helped clients in 1,353 cases by advocating for access to necessary and lifesaving health care coverage and services, and for some, preventing catastrophic medical debt. Our 1,159 closed cases resulted in economic benefits of $1.3 million.

In 736 cases, BayLegal helped survivors of violence and their children remove legal barriers to safety and selfsufficiency, and secured $3 million in economic benefits in 556 closed cases.

In 430 cases, BayLegal represented immigrant survivors of violence, obtaining eligible immigration relief and employment authorization resulting in increased personal safety, reunited families, greater selfsufficiency, and $10.7 million in economic recovery
