Important Notice Concerning Clinic Availability and Public Health:
In accord with COVID-19 public health advisories, all Bay Area Legal Aid services will continue to be provided virtually. Until we can resume in-person clinics, we are providing a remote DVRO brief services system to assist survivors with completing DVRO requests. Our new remote system will be available by appointment only. Individuals seeking a restraining order should call the Legal Advice Line, select their language from the opening menu (1 for English, 2 for Spanish, 3 for Mandarin, etc.). The next menu will ask the caller to select the option that best describes their legal issue. The caller should then press 5 to be transferred to a Legal Advice Line attorney who can screen them for eligibility, provide advice and set up the appointment for our DVRO brief services.
As a reminder, the Legal Advice Line hours of operation are Mondays and Thursdays, 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM, and Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM. We ask that callers leave a message if the line does not immediately answer and a Legal Advice Line attorney will return their call.
If you have any questions about the new DVRO brief services system please feel free to reach out to me and I’ll be happy to provide you and your agency more information.
