Disaster Relief Resources
This page houses resources for individuals and families affected by natural disasters—wildfires, floods, earthquakes, and other emergencies. The resource list in the left sidebar will receive ongoing updates, particularly during periods of emergency. We encourage readers to check back frequently during such periods.
This page is also the location to check the status of the Disaster Relief Hotline, which can be activated during active natural disasters.

Further Information on the disaster relief hotline
On September 1, 2020, BayLegal in collaboration with the Disaster Legal Assistance Collaborative (DLAC) activated the Disaster Relief Legal Hotline for Californians affected by the wildfires in Northern California. The line can be activated during periods of ongoing emergency. When the line is active, individuals can call (888) 382-3406 for help with legal issues related to the fires, and for information and referral to a range of other legal and support service providers for free legal assistance and legal resources for survivors of natural disasters. This hotline is part of our Legal Advice Line, and we will be providing advice and counsel for eligible clients during LAL hours. In the evenings, volunteer attorneys will staff the disaster hotline queue, as well as do callbacks for callers not eligible for BayLegal services. The volunteer attorneys can provide advice and counsel regardless of income or immigration status.
During periods when the Disaster Relief Legal Hotline is not operating, callers should contact our Legal Advice Line (LAL) at 1-800-551-5554. Please check our main Get Help page for LAL hours.
