Fighting to Preserve Housing in Richmond

An August 26th story on Univisión 14 features a Richmond tenant and BayLegal client, Susana, who is facing eviction from one of three storage units that were illegally constructed by the landlord and subsequently red-tagged by the City of Richmond. Susana, along with the other tenants of these units, came to BayLegal through our Richmond housing clinic.  Thanks to a coordinated rapid response by BayLegal attorneys Tamina Alon, Monique Doryland, Martelli Dwinnell, and Equal Justice Works Fellow Juliana Morgan-Trostle (fellowship sponsored by Greenberg Traurig, LLP), the tenants have retained possession while our team advocates for their rightful relocation assistance. The web version of the full segment (in Spanish), featuring interviews with Susana and Juliana Morgan-Trostle, can be viewed on Univisión 14’s website.
