Farewell and Best Wishes to Jim Sandman

On January 21, 2020, the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) announced that Jim Sandman would be stepping down after serving as LSC president for over nine years. BayLegal sends its gratitude to Jim for his steadfast leadership, which has ensured the continuation of our work—and the work of our sister legal aid agencies—in our low-income communities. We are particularly grateful to him for his focus on the legal response to the opioid crisis, and for his partnership during the 2019 Concert for Legal Services, during which he further affirmed our belief that the investment in civil legal aid is the investment in justice. It has been our great pleasure to work with him during his inspiring tenure, and we are excited to see what he does next.
