This Bay Area Legal Aid training will cover 2019 fair housing topics, including a look at the intersection of DFEH regulations and the Fair Housing Act, Crime-Free Rental Housing Programs/Nuisance Ordinances and Fair Housing law, and Fair Housing Reasonable Accommodation Topics & Tactics. This free training for fair housing advocates and attorneys will compare and contrast newly proposed DFEH fair housing regulations with federal fair housing law, and discuss the impact of these regulations on fair housing practice in California. National Housing Law Project will present an overview of Nuisance Ordinances and Crime-Free Housing Programs, and discuss the intersection of these programs/ordinances and fair housing law. The fair housing reasonable accommodation topics and tactics presentation will include a roundtable discussion for presenters and attendees. This training will be eligible for up to 4.5 California MCLE credits. Lunch will be provided. Early registration is recommended as space for this training is limited.
