BayLegal welcomes individuals who wish to volunteer their time and services in helping our client community obtain equal access to our justice system. We welcome attorneys, students and civic-minded individuals who wish to assist our attorneys and advocates in representing clients before judicial and administrative bodies. We have six offices throughout the Bay Area and are very flexible in work schedules, assigning you to a location that best fits your needs and subject area.

Protecting Victims of Crime

In December, lawyers from Bay Area Legal Aid's Legal Advice Line, San Mateo and San Jose offices spent an evening educating immigrant families and individuals that were victims of crimes like domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and torture about their legal rights and how to avoid immigration scams.

Workshop participants were all people who qualify for U-Visa protection because they have suffered substantial physical or mental abuse as victims of crimes and have assisted in the investigation or prosecution of these crimes.

BayLegal's pro bono program will place workshop clients with trained pro bono attorneys from firms like Latham Watkins, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, Morrison Foerster and Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe to assist clients with their U-Visa applications.
